....then it rained

Sitting outside, the cat snoring on the sofa, I enjoyed the warmth and looked up the steps. The wind was drying and plants were certainly desperate for water.
Getting the watering can I began the process; feeding the vegetables and watering the less hungry flowers.
It took about 40 minutes but I got to pick some courgettes and green beans for dinner later.
Finishing, I went indoors to make lunch then sat outside enjoying the view. In fact it got too hot for my head so going indoors, I decided to start that painting by Sutherland.
All that watering, heaving the watering can up and down was quickly superseded by torrential rain and a few claps of thunder.
Back inside now, it's almost nippy compared with earlier.....😁..... I'm not complaining though, we need all the rain we can get at the moment.
So, cheers! I won't be watering tomorrow that's for sure.

Abbey wood??

Having a gentle wander around Kings Hill I noticed a street name.
It really made me chuckle, especially when I looked down the road and saw....
a different world from the one I taught in.
Abbey Wood, an outlying suburb of London, is an over crowded expanse of houses sitting between Woolwich and the sewage plant for south east London.
It boasts the main route into Thamesmead, which is on the Lesness marshes, and now has a decent rail link to London (it was always good but now its better) and a stones throw from the Docklands light railway.
It has traffic coming out of its ears as its on the only main road along the south side of the river (I suppose you could say it's the equivalent of the A13 without modern intersections) and trucks thunder through all day long.
I looked up the road in Kings Hill; if it gets cars they'll be few a far between and none at the weekend as it leads to a carpark for the companies operating in that area.
From dust to diamond it's quite a comparison

Una taza de café y agua

If you have a café called Muffin Break and you like coffee, then may I suggest trying them out? Their coffee is a blend (sadly you can't buy it 😫) which produces a smooth, rich flavour without the bitter tang you get in so many coffee chains.
I had a traditional macchiato with a glass of water and enjoyed every drop.
Spurred on by the caffeine intake I faced Shoe Zone..........👟🥿 or something like that.

Laundry's little helper

I wonder if many know what this is?  I had one.  It was made by Hotpoint and lasted for well over 10 years. I used it frequently...
