Shrink wrapped boat and flooded roads

Travelling along Ashes Lane this morning was a bottom-of-car-washing session with wall to wall water and little indication of its depth.
It's at times like this I'm delighted to have a diesel with no carburetor nor points to get wet.
With an impatient delivery van up my bottom it did make navigating my best line more challenging but not intimidated I worked my way along a quarter of a mile of fording the waters.
Spitting my way out onto the Hadlow Road I was more than amused to see, having had the whole village shut to traffic for a few weeks to resurface the whole thing, the gas people have now shown up 😏 you've got to love 'em.
Now we have temporary traffic lights and one way traffic.
I'm waiting for the water board and sewer people to turn up. If they plan it right, the superb, new road can be christened by a number of tarmac trenches by Christmas being picked at by the rainwater and the relentless tyres.
The M20 is flowing 💖 traffic moving with ease, yay.
As I travelled towards the Larkfield turnoff I noted a delivery van towing a shrink wrapped boat! Apt with the levels of water round here 😁
My mind wandered to the delight of peeling off all that plastic without damaging the fibreglass.
I returned my concetration to the Citroen C1 in the 2nd lane; I managed to push her to 52mph but.....
So glad I pulled off at the next junction.
