Let me slip beneath

Let me slip beneath your bridges
Let me pass in the silent hue
that rent the land.

I have scoured clean your banks, your ditches
So now
let me slip beneath your bridges,
Silently.

As you watch in fascination
at the benign strength of my being
let me slip beneath your structures
and carry
the load I bear.

Let me slip beneath and finds the sights
you will miss
and those you will never know
as you traverse the dry slabs which bind me
and bind you in return

You're stopped at the bridges I flow beneath
and I continue my journey
unhindered
to unite with the sea.
